
2026 Lantana LDBB Cook Off
Rules and Regulations
The 5th Annual BBQ Cook Off, hosted by the Lantana Dads, Bourbon, and BBQ & the Lantana Community Association, is being held on Saturday, March 28th from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Town Green. Residents will arrive between 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
1. Registration form must be received by March 21st, 2026. All registration is in advance of the cook-off. There will be NO ON-SITE registration the day of the cook-off.
2. Cook-off entrants may be an individual or a team and will need to be able to dispense meat into tasting trays (provided by HOA/event) and serve to the public. Lantana will not provide your service to the public for you.
3. Assigned area must be set up and meat must be READY TO TURN IN FOR JUDGING by 1:30 PM. Set up can begin at 6:00 am Saturday, March 28th (If you are cooking onsite, you can begin setting up at 6:00 AM that morning, we just ask that you coordinate with Wil Wilbur on that). Judging will begin at 2:00 PM (ribs/other) and 2:30 PM (brisket) and the winners will be announced at 5:00pm.
4. All entrants must provide tongs for serving meat. Taster boats, forks, and gloves to dispense samples to the crowd will be provided for you.
5. Lantana will provide an assigned area for all contestants.
6. Meats must be cooked from scratch at home or on site. Each cook must prepare at least 1-2 ribs or brisket to be eaten by the residents as well as judged by the selected judges.
7. No bare hand contact with food is allowed. Hand washing facilities are available. REMINDER: Contestants must wash their hands after using toilet facilities, coughing/sneezing and handling soiled equipment, etc.
8. All food must be covered when not in use to protect from customer handling, coughing, sneezing or other contamination.
9. No deliberate sabotage to another contestant or their entry will be tolerated, and such an act would lead to automatic disqualification.
10. All entrants shall deposit their trash in their surrounding area into a nearby trash dispenser. Entrants will gather all belongings they brought with them upon leaving and are responsible for cleaning up their area.
11. Decision of the winner is final!
12. Lantana is not responsible for any type of lost or broken item that belongs to any contestant.
13. Please remember that the Association discourages any type of solicitation. This event is for entertainment purposes and the booths are not allowed to be used for solicitation of business.
